What the app stores

Audio recordings, titles, icons, tags, songs, crop points, and anything you put inside a song — blocks of text and photos — are written to your device and stay there. They are protected by whatever protects the rest of your phone: your passcode or biometrics, iOS file encryption, and the sandbox that keeps other apps out.

What leaves your device

Only what you send yourself. Sharing a recording uses the standard iOS share sheet — Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Files — and goes directly from your phone to wherever you point it. That exchange is between you and iOS; the app takes no part in it and keeps no record of it.

Analytics and tracking

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind. If that ever changes, this page will say so before the change ships, and the date below will tell you when it changed.

The microphone

The app asks for microphone access because recording is the point of it. Audio captured that way is written straight to your device. It is not streamed, uploaded, or processed anywhere else.

The camera and your photos

You can add a photo to a song — a chord chart, a page of lyrics, a whiteboard. The app asks for camera access only when you choose to take one, and a photo taken that way is saved straight to your device like a recording is.

Adding a photo you already have does not require access to your photo library. iOS shows you the picker and hands the app only the picture you chose; the app cannot see anything else, and never asks to. Photos are made smaller when they are added, to save space on your phone — that happens on the device, and the original in your library is untouched.

Listening to your recordings on-device

Some features examine your audio to be useful — working out where a take starts, drawing its waveform, or suggesting tags from the instruments it hears. All of this runs on your phone using Apple's own frameworks. The audio is not sent anywhere to do it.

Deleting things

Deleting a recording, a photo, or a block of text in the app removes it from your device — a deleted photo takes its file with it. Deleting the app removes everything it held. Both are permanent, and neither needs anyone's help, because no copy exists anywhere else.

Children

The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Your data rights

Laws such as GDPR and CCPA give you the right to see, correct, or delete the data a company holds about you. There is nothing here to ask for: no data about you is collected, so none is held, and everything the app created is already in your hands on your own device.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects any of the above, this page will be updated and the date at the bottom will change with it.
